In January 10,2023 AAA tow service was called by me (Betty Chevis) to have my car towed my car for repairs because of the clutch on my car malfunctioning (stuck in the down position). I received information from the Matt’s mechanic that not only was the clutch need to replaced but the transmission needed to be replaced. The service I received from Matt’s was outstanding. I was even given a vehicle to drive until my car was repaired. I am Very pleased and would recommend Matt’s to family, friends and new members.

The folks at Matt’s were super friendly and were in the process of fixing the transmission in our car when they found additional problems with the car and notified me of the problem. After finding replacement parts to fix the car it was decided that the cost was more than the car, they put the car back together for me and I replaced it with another car. They even had a loaner car to use while they were fixing my car. Will definitely use they again.

Wow! where do I begin? Matt, Jenn and the entire crew were very accommodating and very straight forward. I usually dread going to any automotive repair center but my experience at Matt's changed my perspective totally. I had an out of state trip that would have been impossible if they did not go out of their way to get me in for the necessary repairs. They completed the repairs as they promised and the charges were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Matt's Automotive Service Center.

I had them test and fix my ABS system. Matt's was very up-front with the estimate and the costs of labor, and the whole repair. I was pleased they gave me the choice to choose or deny those services I either did or didn't want. Overall, a good experience.

I called about my check engine light. Jenni was super friendly and said they were pretty booked into the following week but thought they could squeeze me in. They did! She was very helpful and the mechanic(s) fixed the issue and I had my car back within a day! Very thorough and timely. Matt's with have my future business and anyone else I can recommend!!

Always know that I can depend and trust Matt's Automotive to take excellent care of my vehicle! Love the fact that they take photos of everything and show you 1st hand what needs to get repaired and what doesn't. They are upfront about everything, and I have never ever felt pushed into repairing something that I didn't want done at the time. They put you as the customer in the driver's seat when it comes to deciding on what and when you want to get things repaired! In my opinion, one of the best automotive repair shops around!

The entire team at Matt's as been great to work with. We've been taking our cars to them since we moved to the Fargo area in 2018. On this particular time I had them assess some issues with my car that had I got them fixed would have been a considerable expense but they advised me to not do so given I am planning on getting a new car in the near future. What business tells you to not do something that would generate them significant revenue because it's the best thing for you? Well, when it comes to servicing your vehicle, Matt's is just that place. I always go to Matt’s for my car repairs. They are friendly, reliable, and quick to get me in ASAP. I brought my car in to investigate some odd noises in my engine. Since my husband’s car was in an auto body shop, I needed my car as quickly as possible. Vern and the technician worked hard to get the assessment done by the end of the day and Carly drove to my house first thing the next day so I could get my car back, schedule the repairs, and get home to take my husband to work. I always appreciate the excellent customer service I get from Vern and the rest of Matt’s staff. Thank you!

Another visit to Matt's for standard car maintenance and another first-class experience! Vern and his team at the location right north of 13th Av S do an excellent job. Honest, friendly and great customer service! I have to tell this story. My brake sensor came on in my car so I told them to replace the brake pads. Soon get a call back from Vern after they'd started the work and he said you have plenty of brake pad left so no need to replace yet. WHAT???? Man do I appreciate that type of honesty and service! I decided to give Matt’s Automotive a shot after hearing so much about them on Y94. I took my vehicle in for an oil change and a complete check of repairs/maintenance that may be needed and I ended up getting some of the more needed items taken care of. Since this was going to take some time they made sure I got home and back to my vehicle when it was all done. For the first time in my life, I did not feel overwhelmed by their recommendations but informed. I will be going back for all of my vehicle needs and recommending them to family and friends.

So I’m new to Fargo, discovered Matt’s on google. Had good reviews so decided to take my 16 4Runner for an oil change! Super amazing service, bar none! Came up in conversation that we’re expecting a baby and they put a couple of stuffed teddy bears wearing a Matt’s y shirts! Loved the extra care and service they provide. Also did a free 27 point inspection and found something I was looking for a while. That 27 point inspection was free and included in the price of oil change. And they also rotated the tires which is part of their oil change service! Again if you’re looking for a quality mechanic/car shop in town, look no further! They are just awesome. Only one thing is that they are more on the pricey side, but that is to be expected when you get such great service like that! They also had a super clean shop and waiting area. Which had a coffee bar and a pop cooler for their customers. No greasy hands anywhere on the vehicle and no smell of that you just took your vehicle into a car shop! Cannot recommended enough! Thank you guys, I’ll be a lifetime customer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've been here twice. I have been recommending them to friends and family for repairs because of word of mouth accounts from others. I had not had a reason to utilize their services until recently. My air conditioner when out and my car was out of alignment. Although the ac was an easier fix than I expected I was confused by the process so I asked a lot of questions. They were so patient responding to me and stayed passed their closing time to finishing explaining how they did diagnostics to discover a few other issues. We came up with a game plan to fix the issues my car was having. I have not had a mechanic do that with me before. They do have loaner vehicles if you have full coverage insurance but everyone and their mother was having their cars worked on at the same time. It was okay because I didn't need a car that bad. The labor fees are a little much but what good mechanics aren't? Plus they are still cheaper than some mechanics in the FM area. I gladly payed it and will in the future. Their customer service is so wonderful, I will continue to recommend them.

I went to Matt's because of a Costco membership coupon and for a second opinion on some work needed on my vehicle and I'm glad I did! I was really impressed with how professional and thorough this place is. They were able to diagnose the issue I was experiencing and also did some routine maintenance. The coupon was just a plus on top of the great service. I really liked the text updates so I could access any information about issues and see images/videos provided if they found known issues. I also liked the ability to see the prices of maintenance needed and a list of what the maintenance is for. I appreciated Vern calling me and bring prompt about updates and explaining anything I had questions on. He was very flexible and knowledgeable. Very pleased with his customer service experience. Last, but not least, loved that they put a plushie in my baby's car seat. Such a nice touch. Whoever came up with that idea, you're awesome! My child will hug anything plushie so she liked it right away. 🤍

I’ve always appreciated the service at Matt’s. I had a nail in my tire and I called Vern and asked if he could get me in on a Friday morning. My first time using Matt’s Auto, I chose them because of their high reviews and I’m glad I did. They were very professional and friendly. I dropped my car off in the morning to be looked at before we take an out of state trip. They actually gave me a ride to work! The lady who drove me was very pleasant. They kept me informed, even sent me a very detailed list of services they recommended with prices. I was very impressed by this. They were able to have my car finished by the time I left work. Prices were fair and honest. They vacuumed the front floor of my car and left a sweet stuffed animal in my daughter’s car seat!

I brought my car in to Matt's Automotive Service Center because I needed a place that I could trust with a Saab that is no longer in production and are notoriously difficult to work on. I don't impress very easily when it comes to taking my vehicle to a mechanic. Does anybody now days? However...I was EXTREMELY floored by the service I received for my vehicle! The technology they used was up to date WITHOUT all of the up to date prices! I have never been so thoroughly informed on every aspect of my vehicles needs by an automotive center before. They gave me before and after pictures of everything they worked on and pictures of everything that will need to be worked on in the near future. Pictures of my engine, brakes, under the vehicle, fluids...you name it! No decisions were made without explanations and my prior approval. Also, I wasn't pressured into spending money on repairs that didn't have to be done until a later time. I've finally found a new high quality automotive center for my vehicle and would highly recommend Matt's for all of your vehicles service needs. Thanks guys!

06/10/19 I found Matt's when I moved to Fargo a couple years ago. Matt's is always helpful and super fast. I go there for all my service and will continue to in the future. Update 4/12/21- Brought my car in for an oil change and once again had a great experience. If you're looking for a place to keep your car in great shape, this is my recommendation.

They were really helpful. I had a pretty easy problem with my car, and they were able to see my car that day. This could have been because it was a slow week, but it was really nice to be able to have a shop see my car right away. The price for my fix was very reasonable.

I purchased 4 new tires from Matt’s, they were able to get me in quickly, were able to get the tires that others said were special order same day. Had an oil change done and a very thorough inspection and found things the dealer missed that will be under warranty. Tires came with roadside assistance and they took care of my black rims that I had concerns a tire installer may scratch.

I have a cross country move coming up and wanted to make sure my car was good to go before I left. Many of my family members and friends recommend Matt’s and I am pleased with their services. Being a young female, it’s a little intimidating bringing my car into a shop, but the staff was so kind, knowledgeable, and genuine. They did the inspection on my car and got back to me quickly, listing items that I needed fixed as a red flag or yellow flag. Red flags were highly recommended to be done and yellow flags are things I should be watching, but weren’t a severe issue at the moment. That was very helpful, and when the staff went over the red flag items they explained why it should be fixed and what it does for the car. I felt informed and I felt like the staff was genuinely trying to help me. I also used Matt’s collision center to get my windshield fixed and the staff there was also very easy to work. It took about a week for my car to be fixed (I told them I wasn’t in a rush when I brought my vehicle in), and everyday I got a call from the shop that gave me an update on my car and the progress of their work. Overall it was great service and if I lived in the area Matt’s would be my go-to shop! One more thing I’d like to mention is I saw on their website that they occasionally give out free oil changes to single parents and teachers, among other things. I enjoy using a business that gives back to the community so much!

Wasn't told how long it would take, but a lady came in shortly after me and was told about a half hour. So I sat down and less then 10 minutes later I was on my way. Friendly staff. Edit of ten minutes of reading the reviews....sounds like I may be in for more of a regular customer. They sound like they know what they are doing and (at least in the reviews) like to keep the customer informed at almost every step of the process. Just from my short experience there I and from reviews would definitely recommend.

Yesterday, Matt's off 13th dedicated their whole day to giving single mothers (including me) free oil changes. I walked in and they had the paperwork already done and ready to take my car. The waiting area was very clean and everyone was so nice. The bouncy castle was there for kids to jump in. I didn't converse much because I had to hold back my tears. Its been very hectic for me personally these past few weeks and this was a highlight of my week. Thank you to Matt and all your employees for their compassion, integrity, and helping the community. I know this is just one small thing you do during the year but it means so much.

Called in and asked if they could take a look at an aggressive oil leak on my truck. They found a convenient time that worked with my schedule and got me on the books. I brought my truck in on time and they got me right in. I worked with their general manager, Vern who was very professional and informative as to what exactly was wrong with my vehicle. Got everything fixed, changed the oil, rotated my tires... even greased my suspension and cleaned off the bottom of my vehicle as the oil leak managed to coat the entire underbody of my truck. I was very pleased with the customer service as well as the work they did and would highly recommend Matt’s Automotive.

Our car was in Matt’s Automotive for 2 weeks after being hit by one of my daycare parents. We were very pleased with the customer service, Justin was was great! We never had to call about updates, they always reached out to us, they talked directly to our insurance company, when we got our car back it was clean inside and out, we even had a little stuffed animal in our car seat which our son loved. It’s the little things that make you appreciate and recognize companies. They go above and beyond. Very professional yet treated you like family. Hopefully we won’t need to return to a shop for a while but if we do, we plan to return to Matt’s automotive again and again. Highly recommended. They deserve a 5 star rating.

I've always had good experiences with Matt's automotive, I went to his Moorhead location when they first opened and Matt always did good work, met timelines, and had great customer service. Now I go to 42nd St location a lot Vern does a great job. they always work with me on various things my fleet needs to stay running. I've recently brought a truck to the collision center when I hit a deer, Justin has done a great job communicating with myself and insurance and getting things taken care of. Sometimes the problems I have with my fleet are complicated and it seems like they have really skilled technicians that get problems figured out and solved efficiently as well as good service managers who can get things scheduled right and they do work that I trust.

Matt's accommodates changing schedules and conveniently updates you through several methods of communication so you can approve further repair options, complete with links to estimates and pictures of what they intend to work on, before they work on it. I do a lot of work on older vehicles and for the tough jobs that I may not have the capacity to get done, I always source this work out to Matt's and they have always come through in these times of needs for me. When I called over the phone to schedule a oil change they gave me a near exact price estimate in would pay in store. Relatively cheap. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. Their 70 point inspection helped me identify any future problems I would have with the vehicle. Definately will be returning for future service.

Scheduled my service online. Awesome customer service from start to finish. Appointment confirmations when scheduled and again the day before. Preliminary estimate of charges eliminated any surprises in overall cost. With that in mind, the pricing is also far superior to that of my dealership. 10/10 would recommend.

I felt as though I was made a priority when I did a walk in d/t some sounds my car was making. Even though I didn't have an appointment, they got me right in when I mentioned that I had been there before. The place is super clean, new looking, and inviting and the customer service is wonderful! I thought it was cool that they emailed me with updates and I was able to approve services via email/online rather than having to talk on the phone every time there was a change. When I did call it never took more than 5-10 minutes to get a call back if somebody didn't answer. They gave me a rental car for free and I was able to use it for 2 weeks when there were some additional things that were found wrong with my car. Really great place, I'll go here for all of my vehicle needs as long as I live in the FM area!

I've been going to Matt's Auto for years now. My last experience deserved a review. I recently took a car in for an inspection before deciding whether I wanted to buy this used car or not. They did a 70 point inspection and were extremely thorough. When the car was done they explained to me exactly everything that they found and answered all of my questions. What really got me, was after I had decided against the vehicle that they had inspected, I talked with William and Vern for a solid 20 minutes about their opinions and recommendations for a good, reliable vehicle. Vern wrote me a list of vehicles he recommends and a list to stay away from! He had a lot of amazing advice and they really went out of their way to help me out. Being a young girl, I've never felt like they were taking advantage of me or being condescending in any way, which is a huge deal to me. They email me pictures of any issues they find and even offer to take me back to look at them. They have my business for years to come!

Excellent customer service, thanks Jessica! Scheduled oil/tire service and a few days later fan stopped working. Matt’s was able to accommodate the added problem... quickly found the cause and repaired all. Appreciated the simplicity of text/email updates (with photos) while at work, and everyone I talked to was super helpful and kind. The auto tech did an excellent job. Only a couple recs, the shuttle service confused me. Initially I understood could pick up my keys at 1230, then later was left message and told pick up vehicle anywhere from 1030 to 1230, which wouldn’t work. I ultimately had my husband take me to shop early in am instead of shuttle with plan to have my vehicle delivered to my work place end of day. By end of day I learned shuttle stops at 5 pm, car was ready after 5, so had to call husband to drive back into town and then to shop to get vehicle. Adding a detailed description of how the service works, times available, on website would have saved hassle for planning my first service at shop. I also found when people left me messages and asked that I call back, was frustrating trying to reach person who called because I was never given an extension or direct way to reach the person... spent a fair amount of time on hold. However, now that I understand how their shuttle service works, will be much simpler to arrange next time. I am relieved to find a shop I trust, thank you. I will be back.

Love Matt's Automotive!! I highly recommend. Very professional and friendly staff. Really awesome atmosphere. I was offered coffee while I waited and they had a TV. I got in right away and they kept me posted as to what was going on with my car. They were very thorough and showed me pictures of what they found. I trust them and that is very important to me!! It was my first time taking my vehicle to Matt’s Automotive and the first impression was amazing. I was immediately greeted by Jessica and Will and felt at ease. I was offered a ride home, but hung out at the shop and was told to make myself at home since I was staying. Amazing customer service! I have never been given such honest and trustworthy feedback from any car repair service. I had been quoted $800 for a radiator repair at another local establishment near Kmart- but was quickly recommended to Matt's by an awesome former customer in town. Matt's was able to diagnose the problem at around $130!! And, I just found out about perks of road-side assistance and service warranty! I honestly could not be happier! My only wish is that I had found out about these guys sooner (work off salary, not commission- I think that's all i need to know)! I honestly haven’t experienced such prompt and respectful service at an automotive shop in years! After using dealerships for the past several years (and finally getting fed up with them) it was refreshing not to be “sold” anything other than what I made an appointment for that day. I went in for a routine oil change and the service was completed effectively and efficiently; I was in and out in 40 minutes at most. I didn’t have to wait around in a showroom or feel pressured by associates. While waiting, I hung out in the lounge area which was extremely clean, inviting, and comfortable. The staff treated me with respect and was welcoming the second I stepped in the door. Honestly, absolutely necessary, I will not go anywhere else to service my vehicle! First impression on entering the shop was pleasant surprise at the setting. Very clean and didn't have the typical grungy feel of many auto shops. The technicians I spoke with were all outstandingly helpful, knowledgeable, and quite pleasant to top it off. I had my vehicle towed in on a Sunday, when I called in on Monday morning they got it in same day and had a fix for me that same day. They presented all options super clearly and let me know the prices up front. Once a fix was decided, the work got done with good quality. The only problem I had was that the project did get delayed twice by a day, so not a huge deal.

I was having trouble with my Ford pickup not shifting properly and needed help, especially since I was over an hour from my home. I brought my truck to Matt’s, without having any knowledge of their business. I walked in the front door and was immediately impressed with the cleanliness and professional look of the front desk and lobby. I met with Jason and he was very honest and upfront with me. My truck was thoroughly inspected, over and beyond anything I had expected. Not only was my transmission issue diagnosed, but they gave me a detailed list of every other mechanical issue that needed repair. I was initially quoted a price for the transmission diagnostic, and at the end, that is all they charged me, even after spending a good amount of time looking over my entire truck! The communication from Matt’s was very appreciated. Jess was on the phone with me many times keeping me updated and did a great job explaining the final diagnosis. I have a daughter that just finished college in Fargo, and will be residing there working at her new job. Thankfully she lives nearby Matt’s Automotive. It gives a father piece of mind that I can comfortably send her to a honest business that takes pride in everything they do. Hard to find that quality in today’s world. Don’t expect to walk in and have your vehicle fixed immediately. I say that on a positive note! Good things are worth waiting for. Working in law enforcement, I learned to watch, listen and trust my ever growing gut! As I stood in the lobby and watched the number of customers herding into Matt’s, I realized they have obviously worked very hard to draw that kind of flow. Even though they deal with a large amount of customers, they can handle it...and make a point to do it without stressing. Overall, I cannot say enough about Matt’s. Their prices seem a little higher than average but they make up for it in service. Had my rear brakes replaced in May. Matt's will warranty work for 3yr/36kmiles. Well at the start of this winter I started to have issues with my new brakes squeaking when cold. I took my car in in mid November and they ended up replacing the rotors and pads that were squeaking and I didn't have to fight them to make it happen: the replaced them with a smile! If you're scared of mechanics I definitely recommend Matt's.

I very highly recommend Vern Newman and his crewmen, all of them, but especially DAVE. Poor Dave was tasked to work on my 1993 Buick Roadmaster Hearse which had been sitting in a field for a while...Mice had taken over the air filter to use as nesting material and Dave duct-taped his jeans legs shut so the live ones wouldn't..well, you get the drift. I bought this car sight-unseen. I asked Vern to replace all the tires, hoses, everything rubber-y and hose-y, etc...And to make it safe enough for me to fly up to Fargo from Fort Worth, Texas and drive it home! And anything else he could find that needed fixing. He sent me pictures over text message to show me stuff that needed work and why. These guys are absolutely trustworthy. They didn't fix it if it wasn't broke, and they did fix what was broke! They went over my car for 3 weeks and made sure it was great! All this for a probably-not-returning customer. Hey, Vern...we sure could use you and your guys down here in Texas!!

I first took my car to another place (was quoted one thing and told another). I called Matt's in a panic and released my car to them from the other shop. Matt's kept me updated on everything by texts and calls! They made sure to call me before they did anything extra. Ended up having to have the other front wheel bearing changed and had to leave my car there. I got a loaner car for the time they had mine. When Matt's told me that there was a light on that was not there, Vern told me that he was not sending me out of the shop with that light on if I did not come in with it on. Found out that a tab got bent a little bit when the part got sent on. I did not have to pay any extra on it since he said it was an error on their part. I HIGHLY recommend Matt's!!! They are now my go-to place for all my repairs. Thank you so much.

I am VERY pleased with service received at Matt’s Automotive!!! Extreme timely responses. Left initial email at 7:40 am and received phone call from VERN at 8:01! Appreciate straight forward, kind and understanding service. Had car serviced a month to date at another service center. They were BUSY yes. But Matt’s came back with info that could have/should have been made known to me month earlier. Not only did they explain car problems but emailed with pictures, all that was fine, all that was cautionary and what was absolutely the problem. Even MATT himself responded to emails. Unfortunately, car issues arose just days after the passing of my mother in law. I HAVE NEVER had a service center owner and manager express sympathy nor compassion to such a degree. VERN is a gem. What service center manager would offer a hug of COMPASSION. None dare I say!!!! And Matt!!! The community is blessed to have him out there building a business on HONESTY, INTEGRITY and PRINCIPLES!! Their warranty is awesome, the roadside assistance has saved the day, and I love how fast their services are along with the courtesy rides. I called Matt's this morning at 9am. I told Vern at the Fargo store my concerns we were having with our vehicle & that Gateway had our vehicle for 6 days with said concern. This was the first shop I've been in where they actually do progress updates, online reviews, and Actually do the follow up and the end of the day...Chris and the mechanic were super friendly and didn't over charge me for anything (rates are low). I brought my car in for a little TLC since it had gotten over 100,000 miles on it. After a quick inspection Matt's Automotive called me with a few minor fixes that should be done. They described each problem they found, what needs to be done to fix it, and gave me a quote for each thing. Understanding that these things can be expensive, they gave me a variety of options depending on the severity of the problem. Unfortunately a week after my repairs one of the parts malfunctioned causing me to bring my vehicle back. Matt's Automotive took great care of my car, replaced the part that was defective, and gave me a car to drive in the mean time at no cost to me! Great guys and great service!

Had a brake issue and brought my car in to Matt's. That were very friendly and did a diagnostic (which they capped so that I wouldn't wind up with some crazy unexpected charge). They found the issue and gave me a quote as well as went over some of the potential issues that could come up during the repair. The original work came in under the quoted amount. They discovered another issue and let me know about it before doing any work and gave me an estimate and let me decide first whether I wanted the additional work.
